The following massage therapy services are provided at our clinic:
Relaxation massage is for general relaxation of the body and mind. It is a flowing, rhythmical massage that uses techniques to relax and stretch soft tissues and provide deep relaxation. The pressure of this type of massage is relaxing. Relaxation massage is not designed to relieve chronic pain or soft tissue injury.
Remedial massage assists in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It tends to use a deeper pressure than relaxation massage. Deep tissue massage is beneficial in releasing chronic tension. The pressure of the massage technique is modified and adapted to individual pressure tolerance.
Myofascial Release focuses on tight fascia surrounding muscle and connective tissue or on Trigger Points in the fascia. It applies a gentle sustained pressure to Myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.
Trigger point therapy focuses on taut bands within muscle tissue that refer pain in other parts of the body. The pain of trigger points is often described as sharp and intense or as a dull ache. Trigger point therapy applies pressure to the tender areas within the muscle tissue in order to relieve muscle pain and dysfunction.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (or Lymphatic massage) uses very light pressure to promote the drainage of lymph from the body tissue toward lymphatic sites. It is a useful treatment where there is inflammation, injury and congestion e.g. headaches including sinusitis where there is congestion, or post-surgery or post-injury, where the tissues may be swollen and sore.
